Now that most countries across the world are gradually relaxing COVID-19 restrictions as a result of large-scale vaccinations and lower numbers of cases, OTO International Headquarters (IHQ) has decided to lift the remaining suspensions and restrictions on OTO activities implemented on July 20, 2020 e.v.

National Sections and local bodies should continue to adhere to the regulations and recommendations issued by their respective national health agencies, as well as the recommendations issued by WHO. Organizing officers need to stay updated on any developments in the spread of the COVID-19 virus in their areas, especially the so-called Delta variant, and act accordingly.

In addition to this, we are issuing the following specific instructions:

• Officers, candidates, and attending members at initiations and Gnostic Masses need to show proof that they have either a) been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, b) received a negative test result within the past 72 hours, or c) recovered from COVID-19 (antibody test).
• Members are prohibited from attending any meeting if they are sick, or demonstrating symptoms that could impact fellow members.
• Social distancing of at least one meter should be observed at every meeting.
• Members should wash their hands before and after eating, and before returning to a temple or meeting place, including any breaks.
• Hand sanitizer stations should be strategically placed at the entrance to the temple or meeting place, and in the restroom and/or kitchen area.

Furthermore, we strongly advise members residing within the EU to use the EU Digital COVID Certificate when attending OTO events.

Our Grand Lodges have issued their own policies and directives governing OTO activities during the crisis. This communique is not intended to supplant those directives, but is directed to countries managed directly by IHQ.
